Our Commitment to Supporting SMBs

Increasing digital literacy and leveraging IT resources is key to adapting.

Small business, big challenges

Small and medium size businesses (SMBs) have been pushed by the pandemic to make quick technological changes. While we’ve seen many small businesses go in this time, those that continue to thrive owe it to a digital transformation.

1 in 5 small businesses and almost 1 in 2 medium-size businesses say a lack of employee skills has been their biggest obstacle to adapting (GetApp). Specifically, a lack of digital literacy. Customers have grown high expectations for the digital presence of businesses — expecting at minimum websites, social media presence, and instant customer service/troubleshooting.

Thriving in a digital world

SMBs have in one way or another become e-commerce friendly. On the back end, these organizations have swapped out on premise systems for cloud technology, adopted device management, and enabled remote working environments.

Point Alliance has been working behind the scenes for several years to help SMBs leverage their IT resources. In 2020, we helped Catholic Children’s Aid Society of Toronto switch from an on-premise platform (IBM Domino) to a centralized location on the cloud (Microsoft 365).

We empowered employees at CCAS with user training to ensure comfort with and seamless adaptation to new technology. An integrated collaboration environment and reduced carbon footprint drove the organization forward.

Helping you move forward

We believe implementing new technology and increasing digital literacy is key to thriving in this increasingly digital world. That’s why we help SMBs leverage their resources and empower their staff for a more profitable and efficient future.

Some of our other SMB clients include CFST and Children’s Aid Society Ottawa, to name a few.
