Microsoft’s New Commerce Experience was launched in 2019 to expand opportunities for customers and partners buying and selling Microsoft products and services.
Microsoft’s New Commerce Experience is getting some major updates for 2022. If you’re a Microsoft partner or customer, you’ll want to read on.
Next Steps in the NCE Journey
Effective January 2022, Microsoft will bring seat-based cloud offers to New Commerce Experience for Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and Windows 365.
Microsoft is designing the New Commerce Experience to simplify and streamline how customers can buy from Microsoft. Microsoft wants to offer partners more options for tailoring their purchases to meet customers’ business needs. Faster, simpler transactions mean sellers will have more time and opportunity to support their customers’ digital transformation.
Effective March 2022, new orders can only be transacted through Microsoft’s New Commerce Experience. All M365 Modern SKUs will increase by 15% in price no matter the term.
By February 2023, all remaining subscriptions on the previous experience must be moved to new commerce because they cannot be renewed on the previous CSP experience.
Key changes:
- Monthly subscriptions can be adjusted to annual or 36-month, only at the end of the month.
- Partners can now make short and long term offers (monthly, annual, 36-month) to provide more flexibility to customers.
- The cancellation policy is now 72 hours (UTC) as opposed to 30 days. This encourages long-term commitment and adds revenue forecasting predictability for partners.
